Power of a PEEL!

You may have a case of the Mondays, but cheer up buttercup! It's Makeover Monday here on the blog! It's nearly fall which means as an aesthetician I get to treat my clients with some pretty intense treatments, like a peel! I could not be more excited to feature this amazing "before and after" of my client and her results!

In awe? You should be! This my friends is the "Power of a Peel" and my stunning work if I do say so myself! ;)

• TCA Peel(Trichloroacetic Acid)- Deep peel/7-10 day down time/works great for acne scaring.

*** All peel results will vary depending on client, everyone heals differently. One peel will make a definite difference, however most clients need a series of peels throughout the year. The deeper peels obviously will have longer lasting results if you maintain your skin properly. When it comes to making over these beauties "less is more!" I wanted a pretty, natural, soft look. I love make-up and what girl doesn't love getting made up ... there is no need to over do it. Make-up is a great way to enhance your natural beauty and features! Now, I'm not saying never do a heavier look, because there is a time and place smokey eyes are hot and great for date night, parties, girls night out... photoshoots, weddings, special events, film and television of course you've got to play it up!

You want this look?!?? Well... here is what I did to create it!

Step 1: Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Primer and Brightener. I applied with a foundation brush all over in a circular motion to prime and smooth the skin. Primers are amazing at controlling oil, minimizing the pores, and keeping your make-up in place. I especially love JI's because it is the purist of them all, no harsh chemicals, dyes, fragrance, or parabens! It is truly a "skincare" make-up! It is an anti-aging primer, with antioxidants!

Step 2: I used Make-up Forever Matte Velvet foundation and mixed it with Nars Orgasm Illuminator. Matte Velvet goes on very smooth, has great coverage, and looks natural after applying. I love to mix my foundations with Nars to create an amazing "illuminating" and radiant glow! If you are taking pics its's gorgeous and captures light, naturally giving you a perfect highlight! I used a round foundation brush, an applied in circular motions as well, this will evenly smooth the foundation, giving you a more flawless appearance. 

Step 3: I set the look with just a touch of powder, not heavy at all! I used Jane Iredale pure pressed in golden glow, with a large powder brush. Once again, I love it because it's breathable, pure and clean. Great for your skin's health. 

Step 4: Time for "HAC"... highlighting and contouring! I used a contouring chisel brush with Jane Iredale So Bronze 1 to contour.  I used NYX High Definition Photo Concealer Wand for highlighting and concealing. I also used Jane Iredale Pearl Powder for extra pop of highlight and to set the look. For the cheeks... I used Nars Orgasm blush, with a small blush brush, applied on the apple of the cheeks. Here is a diagram to help with HAC and blush!

Step 5: Eyes! I first applied L.A. Splash Enlightened Eye Primer to hold color pigment, shadow and to prevent creasing. Colors I used for eye: JI's sweet spot (triple pack), dreamy pink in crease, oyster for brightening under brow, in the inner corner,  and applied a touch under the eye to brighten. I only used liner on the top lid, very thin on the lash line to enhance lashes. I used Jordana Fabu Liner, it is an awesome long wearing liquid liner in the form of a felt pen. Super easy to apply, and mess free! For the lashes, no false lashes were needed I used Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara. I filled in the brows just a little and naturally with JI taupe pencil.

Step 6: Lips! Jane Iredale Rikki Pure Moist Lipstick and Pink Candy Lipgloss. I didn't use lip liner on the girls, however if you love lip liner I would apply after lipstick to enhance lips. I like JI's Rose, or Nude.

I tell most of my clients to use am and pm, depending on their pigmentation.  Lytera helps suppress your skins melanin and lightens your visible pigment. Great for melasma, age spots, un-even skin tone, and un-wanted freckles. Lytera will truly give you an amazing GLOW!!!
3. Eminence Rice Milk 3in1 Cleansing Water: Cleanser, Toner and Make-up remover. This 3in1 product is nice to have on hand. We all know there are nights when going through your regimen just isn't gonna happen, so you can rest assured your skin will be taken care of! You can use to remove your makeup, refresh your skin and balance the ph, and cleanse impurities away! I also like to use as a morning cleanser, because my night cleanser is more astringent and doesn't need to be used in the morning.  Bonus*** the fragrance of this lil' must have is heavenly...like vacation in a bottle!
4. Eye Dr: Our number one selling eye treatment. Eye Dr. uses "vitamin A" to tighten, brighten and firm underneath your eyes. Anti-aging at it's finest!
5. Kate Somervillie's Eradikate: Let's face it no matter the age or stage of our life blemishes are bound to pop up! So stop them in their tracks, eradikate uses sulfur to dry out pesky breakouts and zinc oxide to help heal.
6. G.M. Collin's Ceremides: These babies are liquid gold! Anti-aging, nourishing and extremely hydrating. You will love how luxurious and silky your skin feels after using. I use when I need a boost of hydration a skin "pick me up." The ceremides are like eight glasses of water for your face. They work wonders after traveling. 
7. Epicurean's Microderm Ultra Refining Scrub: This product uses actual microderm crystals to polish your skin. It is a thorough exfoliation and should only be used once a week. Microderm spa treatments are amazing and deliver great results, so why not maintain at home with this powerful little scrub!
8. Cosmedix Pure C Crystals: Everyone will benefit form Vitamin C! The crystals are the best form when it comes to skincare. Unlike others this product will not oxidize and can be mixed with any skincare product you currently have to give it a boost. Vitamin C is an amazing antioxident, helps to protect your skin from free radical damage and acts as a natural sun protectant. 
9. Jack Black Lip Balm: I'm a sucker for lip balms! I can not go to bed without having my lips moist, don't know why but it drives me crazy.  I love Jack Black lip balm because it is natural and truly creates a barrier to intensely hydrate my lips. It also has SPF 25 which is a bonus when being exposed to the sun, we often forget to apply to our lips. My favorite flavor is lemon , but there are many to chose from and all smell lovely. 
10. SPF: the number one most important skincare product of them all and the best anti-aging treatment... sunscreen! Finding a sunscreen best for you is important my favorite is "Elta MD" I use the one for oily skin, I love it because it helps mattify my skin and is not at all heavy, or pore clogging. Sunscreen should be worn daily and reapplied often if you will be exposed to the sun for hours. 

Masque it!!

I am a huge believer in at home treatment masque! I masque at least once a week, and spot treat every night needed. There are so many options when it comes to choosing a masque, but it's simple really... just focus on what end result you are wanting! I change up my masque routine because our skin is constantly changing, just like working out we need to switch it up! 

Here are my TOP FIVE personal favorites:

1. Eminence Hungarian Herbal Mud Treatment - I use when I'm in need of a deep clean "detox". I also use this masque on breakouts as a spot treatment and sleep in over night.
2. Eminence Clear Skin Probiotic Masque - soothing, healing, refreshing with a cooling sensation. I use this masque right after washing off the Hungarian Mud. 
3. Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask- This is a treatment you sleep in overnight, I love the way my skin feels in the morning when I wash it off. I look refreshed, and bright. My skin is smooth and also appears much firmer, it gives you a mini lift! 
4. Epicurean Volcanic Clay Purifying Mask- This is another powerful purifying mask; great for blackheads, oil, and large pores. After washing off, your skin will feel amazingly clean, like it's breathing!
5. Glam Glow- I actually love their entire collection: YouthMud, PowerMud, ThirstyMud, and SuperMud. Depending on what I'm wanting to treat I switch between all of them!
